Susan About Susan

As an intuitive healer the two questions I’m asked most are "How did you get into this work?" and "Where did you go to study and get accredited?" When choosing a career path I did not think of intuitive healer as a choice, and even if I had, there was no college offering this as either a course or a degree.

Most intuitive healers are born with the gift, but usually it takes a life experience, positive or negative, to bring it to the forefront. I was no exception and two life experiences combined to bring my gift to light.

They wanted to prescribe drugs

The first eventful life experience was just over 20 years ago, when my youngest son was 4 years old. His kindergarten teacher came to me and asked me what planet he was from. Although taken aback, I dutifully took him for tests, after which the doctors recommended Ritalin. I asked the purpose of Ritalin and if there were any side effects. I was told it was for focus, settling down and keeping calm. They said the side effects were delayed physical development, poor appetite and perhaps weight loss.

This made no sense

This made no sense to me. When my son chose to, he could focus for hours on math or video games. Intuitively, I felt the drug was more to allow teachers to do their jobs without needing to deal with a "problem" child. I asked the doctors about alternatives and when none were offered, I started my search. After some time, I discovered a natural path who suggested a type of energy work. It helped my son and had no side effects.

Discovering other tools

To further help my son, I began to study everything I could about energy work and facilitated balancing. I became certified in Touch for Health, right and left brain integration, applied kinesiology, applied physiology, magnetic therapy, crystal therapy and biofeedback. To hone my skills, I continue to study with healers from around the world.

A gift emerged

In one of my workshops, while practicing kinesiology (muscle testing as it relates to illness) I began to receive messages about what to ask the body I was working on. From this, I learned I could channel. In a workshop on applied physiology, I was the subject the teacher was using to demonstrate how to work with frozen muscles. When he got to the root charka, my body went into what is called a kundalini awakening. My learned skills and born gift merged. I recognized I had a calling to heal.

Over the past 20 years of practice, I have continued to study many techniques in addition to channeling. This search directly lead to developing The Art of Chakra Balance healing kit, and writing Balance for Success. I've also discovered a gift for creating healing art. These take the form of stained glass, pyramidal, third-eye objects, as well as healing masks.

We're here to heal ourselves

I believe we're all here to heal first ourselves, then our families and then our communities. Healing energy comes from each of us working on raising our vibrational frequency by fine tuning and clearing our energy paths. I continue to share my healing gift through helping people help themselves to raise their frequency. By facilitating your own charka balance as well as balancing your family and friends, we all become healthier.

A new helping venture

Many other individuals have gifts, have skills, have insights to share. To help them reach a wider audience, I've created a publishing company, Karmic Publishing. At Karmic, we publish my own work and the work of other, interesting, helpful people. To find out more, visit the publishing page.
